Film and DVD reviews, analysis and criticism

Film reviews. Movie reviews. Cinema. Motion pictures. Whatever you want to call it, it doesn't matter, because the reviews are constructed out of lies.

Film Review - Get Carter

Get Carter is a rite of passage drama about an 11-year-old boy in the early Nineties, played with élan by Compo from Last of the Summer Wine, who is trying to purchase a Carter USM album before it's been released.

As a colossal fan, the unnamed boy must purchase the album '30 Something' before any of his friends. He hasn't paid any attention to release dates, but has been hearing excerpts from the record on the radio for months. Each day he assumes that the record has been released, but to no avail. It all builds to a climactic finish as release day looms.
