Film Review – Bull Durham
Bull Durham stars celebrity chef, Gary Rhodes, as a baseball player plagued by abuse for having a stupid, stupid name.
Rhodes doesn’t particularly have the physique or accent for a baseball player, but he does have the requisite demeanour as someone who is really quite pissed off about people laughing at his name. At one point a dentist’s receptionist asks his name. Rhodes tells her and she looks confused. The sigh that Rhodes then produces convinces you that he must actually be called Bull Durham to have developed that level of weariness.
Eventually tiring of the name-calling, Bull Durham changes his name to Nicholas Stephen Laquiro-Crap.
