Film Review – Planes, Trains and Automobiles

Planes, Trains and Automobiles depicts an obsessive compulsive need to document transport as exhibited by a father and son. Oliver Cromwell is the father and Mick Hucknall of Simply Red is the son. Together they travel the length and breadth of the country with the aim of seeing and recording every aeroplane, train and bus that the nation has to offer.

If there’s anything more stultifying than waiting around for trains, it’s waiting around for them without having any intention of boarding one. If there’s anything more boring that that, it’s watching Oliver Cromwell and Mick Hucknall do just that.
